Summer is coming! It might not seem that way just now…but it’ll be here before we know it. With it, the “State Games of America” are coming! If you haven’t heard of them - this is the perfect year to check them out.

The State Games will be held from August 02 to August 05 of 2007, all around Colorado Springs and Registration is OPEN to all amateur Athletes. The Event is hosted by our very own, local Colorado Springs Sport Corporation. (By the way - if you’d like to volunteer to help out with the Games - give them a Call!)

This year participants can choose from approx 29 different types of sports, including 5K Run, Archery, Cycling, Field Hockey, Flag Football, In-line Hockey, Judo, Powerlifting, Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, Triathlon, Wrestling and many more! There is something offered for everyone - for Athletes of all ages and all abilities! Bring your Family and Friends - come to participate or watch!

There are different venues throughout Colorado Springs, to include the Air Force Academy, Ft. Carson, North Monument Valley Park, World Arena, Lynmar Racquet & Health Club etc.

To qualify: As quoted by Mike Moran, Director of Communications, The Colorado Springs Sports Corporation in a Blog at YourHub.com on 02/25/2007:

“…In order to qualify for the State Games of America, participants must have won a gold, silver or bronze medal in a SGA sport in their local State Games in a qualifying year (2005 or 2006 Summer, 2006 or 2007 Winter), won a medal in the 2005 State Games of America or be residents of Colorado for at least 30 days prior to competition. College students, U.S. military personnel and their families who are stationed in Colorado, are also eligible to participate…”
