Dining Out For Life - May 1st

April 22, 2008 · No Comments

Thank you Zack Littlefield - for bringing this to my attention!

This is a call to Everyone in Colorado - to Dine Out on May 1st, 2008!

Why? Project Angel Heart is having a fundraiser in Colorado. Participating restaurants in Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs will donate 25% of their proceeds from May 1st. Approximately 350 restaurants are participating - so you can eat out for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and help Project Angel Heart.

Who are they? Their Mission is to provide: “Meals with love for people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in Denver and Colorado Springs.”

They’ve also been named “Colorado’s Most Outstanding Non-profit Organization” by the El Pomar Foundation.

So - get together with family, friends and colleagues - and ”Dine Out For Life” - check out the participating restaurants; you can dine in Boulder, Golden, Evergreen, Downtown, Capitol Hill, Aurora, Colorado Springs and other places. Why not have fun for a good cause?

Can’t make it on the 1st of May? You can still donate and help a fellow citizen!

Hope to see you - out, about and eating out - on May 1st!

Colorado Springs Home Show

March 2, 2008 · No Comments

Did you visit the Colorado Spring Home Show at the Phil Long Expo Center this weekend? What did you think? My two cents - it was a nice show, a way to spend a very snowy and windy afternoon - but overall - it was the same old, same old….most of what was displayed had been displayed for the last several years. Nothing majorly new and exciting - with a couple of exceptions.

One of them: “Quinn Essentials - The Key to finishing your home”, represented during the home show by Wendy Quinn, the Owner. Say you can’t get excited about hardware? Well, you’d have to see their offerings. It’s hardware alright, but it’s not your run of the mill type of items. If you missed them during the home show, check out their website

What was your favorite display at the show?

Bald Is Beautiful - And Beneficial

February 2, 2008 · 1 Comment

If you’re from Colorado Springs, you might be familiar with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, whose By-line of “Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids’ Cancer” - describes perfectly what they are about.

Are you ready to participate? You can do so - a couple of ways:

1. Be a Donor (Individual, Family, Company)

2. Sponsor a Participant

3. Be a “Shavee” (have your hair shaved off, be sponsored by family, friends, colleagues etc for a good cause)

If you’re not ready to commit to either - come and check it out -it’ss be at Armstrong Hall at Colorado College, April 4th, 2008, downtown Colorado Springs.
