Colorado Springs Drinking Water To Double In Price?

February 20, 2008 · 1 Comment

According to an article by KOAA.com, Colorado Springs Drinking Water could double in price if is to be piped from the Pueblo Reservoir. According to this, the annual water bill for residents would rise from approx. $307 to $693.

It is stated that despite conservation programs, water use is on the rise, and expected to increase further with the increase of soldiers and family members in Ft. Carson.

While I can understand that with increasing numbers of residents, water usage will increase etc – what I can’t understand is Colorado Springs Utilities use of funds – received and collected from current residents.

The following articles are just part of my confusion in this matter:

Utilities bonuses down – but still $10 Million

Utilities bonuses raise pay 20%

THE icing on the Check

Could we maybe have a little more oversight as to how our money is spend and maybe even avoid some of the “double increases”?

How’s your Colorado Springs Utility Bill?

January 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

If it’s anything like ours – it’s going up. In the last bill we received, it included a little pamphlet (Connection) – with the front page article: “Slay the vampire load for energy savings”. It continued on the inside with “Managing your bill” and “Costs for construction materials soar”.

Does that mean thereĀ are others out there – aside from us – who are not only noticing the ever increasing utility bill but are not that happy about it? I can just assume that this – at least in part – prompted these type of articles in the pamphlet.

According to this, you can complete an energy profile of your home on the net. Considering our Utility bill has been consistent only in rising every month – I think I might just try that out.

What about your utility bills? Have you seen any changes? Good, bad or ugly?
